THE WEST INDIES (HANDICAP)
Sir David Seale's 5-year-old, United States bred gelding FAVORITE PLAYER
benefiting from a well timed ride by former champion jockey Ricardo Hibbert,
won the feature West Indies Handicap for the B1-D1 class horses, sprinting
1100 metres (5 1/2 furlongs) on Friday April 20, 2007 at the Garrison Savannah.
Hibbert kept the Clayton Greenidge trained FAVORITE PLAYER off the torrid
pace set by the Trinidad bred SALSA MOVES and WHO'S TO SAY, and
produced the gelding in the last furlong to get up and snatch victory on the post.
WHO'S TO SAY with Andy Ward was second while KABUL with apprentice
Luana Lalung ran on for third. PRIMED N' LOADED finished fourth.
Young promising apprentice jockey Louis-Phillippe Beuzelin rode his first
winner when landing the day's third race The England Condition Race , on
Jockey Anderson Trotman was again in good form landing three winners while
Juan Crawford rode two winners.
Trainer Andrew Nunes is in ripping form as he ended the day saddling three
