With four furlongs to go Trotman took closer order on the Liz Deane trained colt by moving into third position behind WHO’S CRUSIN and BHANU.
With two furlongs to go JOHN BRIAN took up the running while the Mrs. Gay Smith owned STORM ARROW with Jamar Maughn and CHINA SILK with Desmond Bryan started to close.
However, there was no catching the classy JOHN BRIAN.

With five furlongs to go the pair got a challenge from FIRST EDITION but the Boston John trained filly keep to the task and shook off the challenge. On reaching the two furlong pole it was INHERIT THE WIND that challenged BAJAN QUEEN this time, but again the filly shook off the challenge and with a hundred yards to go Anderson Trotman on I’MA LUCKY NATIVE unleashed another challenge. However there was no stopping BAJAN QUEEN as she won with a bit in hand. I’MA LUCKY NATIVE finished second, INHERIT THE WIND third and FIRST EDITION was fourth.
